Book and Needle members are always making memories together. Click through to see some of our favorite moments from the last few years of club activities!

Book and Needle Club Members along with over 50 other woman club members from the Palisades District participated in the NJSFWC Day of Service held on January 16th to coincide with MLK National Day of Service. The Club Woman collected food items and assembled 4 Different Meal Kits that were distributed to local recipients through the Community Foodbank of New Jersey. A total of 90 meal kits were completed and over 300 single items of food were donated to help local residents dealing with food insecurity.

Members of the Education and Libraries book club had an enjoyable holiday tea luncheon at Harmony Tea house in Westwood in December 2022.
The group will meet again on January 13th to discuss our next selection The Girl Who Went Away by Ann Fessler.

At our December 2nd, 2022 General meeting we had an induction ceremony for our new club members, Elizabeth Van Dyke and Laura Warren. Members and guests also heard our new member Laura, who is an award winning photographer, give an informative presentation on "The Rules of Composition" giving helpful tips on creating the best photos. Welcome Elizabeth and Laura to Book and Needle Women's Club of Oradell.

Book and Needle club member Janice and her family organized a Thanksgiving pie and other desert items collection for the Tri-Boro Food Pantry in Park Ridge. Club members and the local community donated 118 pies and cakes as well as $100 cash donations to be given to group homes and families along with turkeys, produce and dairy goods that are supplied by the pantry. Thank you Janice for once again helping our neighbors have a Happy Thanksgiving 2022

Book and Needle Club members and their guests had an enjoyable afternoon at the "Food For Thought" Tea hosted by the Education and Libraries Committee. The event was a fundraiser for our club sponsorships of 1-2 River Dell High School Juniors for the Girls Career Institute (GCI) held at Douglass College, Rutgers University, and one Sophomore student for The Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership Foundation Program (HOBY) held at Kean College. Last years HOBY attendee Chloe Lee and GCI attendees Caroline Pollinger and Isabella Gilmour gave enthusiastic talks about their experiences at these two worthwhile leadership and career programs. Co-President and Treasurer Katherine Norian also talked about her participation in the GCI program as a volunteer "Swan mother".

Book and Needle club member Beth Shuler joined Marie Sullivan and other members of the Paramus Women's Club for the Center for Hope and Safety's "Walk Together Against Domestic Violence". The Walk was held on October 30th, 2022 at Van Saun Park to bring the community together to raise awareness and support the non-profit organization in its mission to assist victims and survivors of domestic violence in Bergen County.

A group of Book and Needle members from the Lunch Around the World Group recently enjoyed Thai cuisine at Pimaan Thai Restaurant in Emerson, NJ in October 2022.

The NJSFWC State Fall conference was held on October 24th, 2022 at the Battleground Country Club in Manalapan, NJ. The keynote speaker was Oradell resident, Julia Orlando (pictured with Shirley Holly, NJSFWC President) who spoke about her work in Bergen County to address and end homelessness for individuals by providing shelter, meals and health and human services.
